owy (“owy”, “we”, “us”) is a dating app built around date ideas, run by Out With You, Inc. This policy covers this website, outwithyou.com, and the owy waitlist. The app isn't out yet; when it is, it will come with its own policy, and we'll tell everyone on the waitlist before anything changes.

Short version: we collect what you type into the waitlist so we can tell you when owy opens near you. We don't sell it, we don't use it for advertising, and you can have it deleted any time by emailing team@outwithyou.com.

What we collect

When you join the waitlist, we store:

• your first name and email address
• the kinds of dates you told us you're into
• if you said you'd like to be an ambassador: your biggest social platform, your handle there, and your follower range
• the country you joined from (worked out from your IP address; we don't store the address itself), your time zone, and when you joined

When you visit the site, we use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights to count page views and measure how fast pages load. They don't use cookies and don't follow you across other sites; they record things like the page, your browser and device type, and your country, in aggregate. We use your country to show “Join others in …” on the page; it isn't stored unless you join.

We don't use advertising cookies or trackers, and we don't buy data about you from anyone.

Why we use it

• to email you when owy opens in your city, and with occasional updates about the launch
• to plan where to launch first, from where people join and what dates they want
• if you said yes to being an ambassador, to get in touch about it
• to keep the site and waitlist working and free of spam and abuse

We rely on your consent when you submit the waitlist, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site for the analytics. You can withdraw consent any time; that stops the emails and deletes your entry.

Who processes it

We use a few service providers, who handle data only on our instructions:

• Vercel, which hosts the website and runs the analytics
• Supabase, which hosts the database the waitlist is stored in
• Google Workspace, for our email

These providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States. We pick providers that protect it to the standard the law requires. We'll share data with others only if the law requires it, or as part of a merger or sale of owy, in which case this policy would still apply to it.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist entry until owy launches near you and you've had the chance to sign up, or until you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Aggregated analytics, which can't identify you, may be kept longer.

Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, and you can unsubscribe from our emails at any time. Under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act, the EU and UK GDPR, and similar laws, you may also have the right to object to or restrict how we use it, or to get a copy to take elsewhere. Email team@outwithyou.com and we'll reply within 30 days. If you're unhappy with our answer, you can complain to your local data protection authority (in Singapore, the PDPC).

Keeping it safe

The waitlist sits in a database that the public website can add entries to but cannot read back. Only the owy team can see it. The site is served over encrypted connections only.

Age

owy is for adults. You must be 18 or over to join the waitlist. If you think someone under 18 has given us their details, tell us and we'll delete them.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top, and if the change matters, we'll email everyone on the waitlist first.
